Section 8: The Calming of Hurricane Isadore, 2002

A very brief summary of Hurricane Isadore: Isadore is most noted for threatening the northern Gulf coast as a Category 4 hurricane, but instead hit as a moderate tropical storm, due to a track change. With nearly ideal conditions for development, Isadore was forecasted to reach 150mph. over the northern Gulf of Mexico, based on one National Hurricane Center (NHC) discussion. Isadore was predicted to be the first U.S. hurricane landfall since Hurricane Irene in 1999. Isadore was an influenced tropical system that did not cause massive damage to the Gulf coast because of a landfalling hurricane intensity collapse.
